To deliver compassionate, person‑centred care and support to residents within Nazareth House Care Village. The Healthcare Assistant will assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition and general well‑being in line with each individual’s care plan. The role plays a key part in maintaining the comfort, safety and dignity of residents while working collaboratively with the wider care team.
Personal Care & Daily Living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence care.
- Support daily routines such as getting up, preparing for bed, and changing clothes.
- Help residents with mobility, including the safe use of aids and equipment.
- Provide nutritional support by assisting at mealtimes and preparing drinks or snacks.
Care Delivery & Documentation
- Follow individualised care plans as instructed by healthcare professionals.
- Observe, report and document any changes in residents’ condition or behaviour.
- Assist with accurate record‑keeping, using paper or electronic systems as required.
- Support the safe administration of medication (if trained and delegated).
Resident Support & Engagement
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families.
- Encourage independence, choice and participation in activities and social interaction.
- Show empathy, patience and respect at all times.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work effectively with colleagues, nurses and other professionals to deliver high‑quality care.
- Attend handovers, meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with team members regarding resident needs.
Health & Safety
- Adhere to infection control and hygiene protocols at all times.
- Use equipment safely and report faults or risks promptly.
- Participate in emergency procedures and fire drills when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home, home care or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
- Completion of or willingness to complete NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Valid driving licence is beneficial for roles involving home care (if applicable).
- Good spoken and written English.
- Basic IT literacy for documentation purposes.
- Reliable, kind and patient with a genuine desire to support others.
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
