What you will be doing?
- Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels to establish accurate points, lines, and levels onsite.
- Interpret and analyse construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate setting out of construction elements.
- Mark out reference points and guide construction teams to follow accurate dimensions.
- Monitor and inspect the quality of work, ensuring it meets project requirements and industry standards.
- Identify any discrepancies or deviations from plans and work closely with the project team to resolve them.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all setting out activities, measurements, and quality checks.
- Prepare progress reports and provide feedback to senior engineers and project managers.
- Ensure that all setting out equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
Is this the job for me?
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in setting out engineering or a similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of surveying equipment is a must (e.g., Trimble, total stations, GPS, laser levels) and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites in Ireland.
