Job Overview
2nd Line Support Engineer, Stoke On Trent – Excellent opportunity for a 2nd Line support Engineer to join a leading MSP providing IT services within their service operations team. Working on cutting‑edge solutions to support critical operations and infrastructure. This role is suited to an experienced and talented second line support engineer responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability and performance of infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide essential support to maintain operational readiness.
- Handle P1 incidents and act as first point‑of‑contact.
- Respond to ticketing systems and troubleshoot incidents around networking, hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Liaise with vendors and third‑party providers, resolving issues to agreed SLA’s.
- Execute patch and patch management for systems and software to ensure security and functionality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong commercial working experience as an IT Support engineer.
- ITIL V3/4 Foundation or above, CompTIA, Microsoft certified.
- Excellent communication skills, able to respond and resolve complex IT issues timely.
- Experience with Windows OS, Server, Microsoft 365, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
- Service management tools – ServiceNow, JIRA, Service Desk.
- Experience in an MSP environment preferred.
Requirements
- Local to Stoke On Trent or willing to relocate.
- Valid security clearance or willing to undergo clearance.
