Systems Operations Engineer Crewe (Hybrid)
The tech stack includes: Linux, Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Git, AWS (ECS, EC2, Lambda, VPC, Route53, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation), Python, and Bash. Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, or Ninja is also desirable.
We are looking for a Systems Operations Engineer to join a tech‑driven client in Crewe. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and maintaining their Linux environment, working closely with IT Infrastructure and Software Development teams to ensure systems whether internal platforms or customer‑facing services are scalable, secure, and efficient.
You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the group’s Linux estate, as well as providing support for their AWS infrastructure. This includes automating infrastructure tasks such as environment builds, scaling, monitoring, and patching. In addition, you will ensure compliance with internal records and security standards, document systems, and follow change management protocols.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Linux experience and knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS. Scripting experience in Python or Bash is also important to succeed in this role.
