At Ocado Logistics it's our mission to change the way the world shops for groceries and it all starts with our LGV drivers. Our drivers operate state of the art fleets, with some vehicles powered by natural gas for specific routes and equipped with extra safety technology. Our larger warehouses (Customer Fulfilment centres) are cutting edge and vast. Our LGV Drivers collect shopping and distribute it across our smaller regional warehouse sites for onward delivery to customers. We do not offer multi drops.
You will be required to work within a flexible shift pattern consisting of nights, late, and early shifts, including weekends. You have the option to work 32 hours over 4 days or 40 hours over 5 days. Routes are assigned up to 12.5 hours per day, and you will regularly be expected to carry out additional hours as needed. This role is based at our Dordon site, Danny Morson Way, Dordon B78 1SE.
Responsibilities
- As an LGV Driver you will be responsible for safe and efficient driving and distribution of products to and from locations across the UK.
- Maintaining the vehicle in a roadworthy condition.
- Adhering to all legal and company requirements.
- Operating within the required shift patterns and ensuring delivery and collection targets are met in a timely manner.
Requirements
- A category C+E driving licence.
- A maximum of 6 penalty points.
- No driving disqualifications in the past 10 years.
- Desirable to have a minimum of 6 months experience.
- A safe and competent driver with the ability to be flexible on shift length on a daily basis.
Hiring & Selection
We conduct a telephone interview, Right to Work checks, a face-to-face interview and an interview drive with a driving assessor. We ensure you are happy with the role and understand the shift patterns before any offers are made.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Structure: lunar pay. Paid every 4 weeks according to a monthly schedule. Pay rates: Basic hourly £17.73; Evening premium (18:00-06:00) £19.73; Sunday Premium £19.39; Sunday Evening Premium (18:00-06:00) £21.48; Overtime Day shift £22.16; Overtime evening (18:00-06:00) £24.53.
