Overview
In this role you will be the principal point of contact for critical technical issues at Ocado’s largest Purfleet CFC, ensuring smooth operation through proactive maintenance and improvement work. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art machinery, including conveyors, lifts, and cranes, within a fast‑paced, safety‑driven environment. You’ll contribute to the Ocado Smart Platform, helping to keep automated fulfillment running efficiently. This is a hands‑on, impact‑driven role at the heart of an innovative tech‑enabled operation.

Responsibilities
- Act as the main technical contact for critical issues at the Purfleet CFC
- Perform proactive maintenance and improvement works to keep operations reliable
- Maintain and troubleshoot machinery including conveyors, lifts, and cranes
- Support safe, efficient operation in a fast‑paced FMCG environment
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to minimize downtime
Key requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Ideally from an FMCG background
- Strong technical competency and a drive for progression
- Computer literate and quick to learn new skills
- Able to work safely at height; health and safety oriented
