Overview
In this role you will shape and sustain Ocado Group’s financial controls framework within the second line of defence. You’ll balance detailed controls testing with high-level governance, support external audits, and guide finance and non-finance stakeholders. You’ll partner with business units to maintain RACMs, ITGCs, and evidence for auditors, contributing to a robust risk and control environment. This is a hands-on position with autonomy, offering impact across processes and systems. You join a mission-driven team modernising financial controls to support a fast-growing technology-led retail platform.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement and continuously monitor the Group's Financial Controls, covering both business processes and IT General Controls (ITGC) for finance applications like Oracle Fusion
- Partner with control owners across finance and non-finance areas to provide guidance and challenge
- Design, maintain and update Financial Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs) and oversee the first line Self-Assurance and Certification
- Coordinate and support provision of Financial Controls evidence to external auditors
- Support the Finance Risk Register and contribute to Fraud Risk Assessment inputs
- Conduct controls testing (design, implementation, operating effectiveness) and review SoD across processes
- Deliver tailored training and workshops to raise ownership of Financial Controls
- Contribute to committee papers on Financial Control matters
- Develop control metrics and dashboards to monitor end-to-end control performance
- Identify control weaknesses early in process/system changes and design mitigating controls
- Support Finance’s Material controls submissions per UK Corporate Governance Code provision 29
Key requirements
- 3+ years PQE with ACA / ACCA / IIA or equivalent
- Experience in a similar second-line, Internal Audit or assurance role
- Strong knowledge of RACMs and controls testing concepts
- Understanding of internal control processes for multinational operations and risk-based assurance
- Working knowledge of ITGC
- Enthusiastic, confident and a team player
- Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation/reporting skills
- Ability to explain technical matters to non-experts
- Autonomous, highly organized and able to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of innovative solutions
