About the Role
We are looking for a strategic Network Optimisation Analytics Manager to act as the central authority for establishing the most efficient and cost‑effective path for volume across the Ocado Logistics network. This is a high‑impact leadership role where you will balance complex constraints – including storage, throughput, headcount, and Last Mile capacity – to define our mid‑term network strategy. You will own the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) governance, ensuring that our multi‑million‑pound operational decisions are grounded in rigorous data, financial modelling, and a "Cost to Serve" mindset.
You will:
- Lead the S&OP Governance: Own the execution and governance of the monthly S&OP cycle, acting as the critical bridge between Retail, Finance, Operations and our Leadership team to align demand with network capacity.
- Architect the Cost‑Optimal Network: Lead the definition and continuous refinement of our "Cost to Serve" models. You will identify trade‑offs between transport, throughput, labour, and storage costs to ensure the network is always optimized for profitability and service.
- Establish the "Optimal Path": Act as the subject matter expert for network constraints. You will model the flow of goods through the network, identifying bottlenecks in storage or Last Mile and providing the "S&OE" (Execution) support needed to bypass them.
- Drive Mid‑Term Strategy: Develop and maintain sophisticated routing efficiency models that look 6–18 months ahead, ensuring our network infrastructure is prepared for future growth and shifts in customer density.
- Manage & Develop Talent: Lead a specialized team of Analysts and Planners, fostering a culture of technical excellence in SQL/Python while developing their ability to provide the "So What?" to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee the Budget Process: Act as a key stakeholder in the logistics budget process, providing the capacity data and volume‑flow models that underpin our financial commitments.
As our Analytics Manager, you will bring:
- Strategic Network Expertise: Significant experience in Network Planning, Supply Chain Optimisation, or S&OP governance within a complex, high‑volume environment (Logistics, Retail, or Consultancy).
- Financial & Commercial Acumen: Strong experience in "Cost to Serve" modelling or similar financial‑operational analysis; you understand how physical constraints translate to a P&L.
- Technical Mastery: Expertise in data tooling (SQL is essential; proficiency in Python, R, or VBA is highly desirable for building scalable optimisation models).
- Influencing & Communication: The ability to simplify complex network decisions to key stakeholders whilst clearly articulating risks and recommendations.
- Collaborative Leadership: A proven track record of bringing teams together to agree on a single, data‑driven "version of the truth."
What you can expect in return
- Wellbeing Support: Access to Employee Assistance Programmes and wellbeing apps.
- Generous Leave: Start with 25 days, growing to 27, plus buy‑up options.
- Private Medical Cover: Comprehensive healthcare insurance.
- Family‑Friendly: Maternity, adoption, shared parental, and paternity leave.
- Financial Support: Interest‑free train tickets and Cycle to Work Scheme.
- Share Schemes: Participate in company success through sharesave and free shares.
- Employee Discounts: 15% off Ocado.com and deals with top retailers & restaurants.
