About the team and the role
We are at an exciting moment in the development of the Ocado Retail business with a broad base of fundamental business change programmes underway which will create step changes within the business. With the successful implementation of the Ocado Smart Platform we are now focused on leveraging the opportunities this presents, and the Transformation team and delivery of effective change are fundamental to this.
The Transformation team is responsible for planning, sequencing, and executing a portfolio of high-impact transformation projects across the business. The team is key to ensuring the organisation is prepared for upcoming changes, managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, and guaranteeing that business benefits are fully realised and changes are successfully embedded.
The Change Manager reports to the Change Lead, forming a core part of the change function within the Transformation team. You will play a key role in collaborating with leaders across the business to develop and implement Ocado Retail’s change and transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for engaging with cross-functional teams to embed our change principles, ensuring the successful delivery of transformation programmes. This role will involve supporting change in high-profile projects. Your responsibilities will include stakeholder analysis and management, identification and management of change impacts, and the development and delivery of communication and training strategies to aid business adoption.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies to ensure the effective adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including gathering feedback, addressing concerns, and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and roadblocks.
- Upskill and coach leaders and managers on best-in-class change techniques, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Ensure a continuous focus on process optimisation and improvement beyond core change activities.
- Partner with project managers to ensure high-quality delivery and value-add on expected project outcomes.
Who you are
Essential- Experience – Proven experience in managing change initiatives from concept through to execution, ideally within a retail environment.
- Leadership – Able to lead within a project, representing the change discipline.
- Communication and Influence – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, adapt to, and understand individual style needs and drivers.
- Stakeholder Management – Ability to build strong working relationships quickly and work collaboratively with a wide range of departments and specialists, tailoring the approach to effectively influence colleagues with other business priorities.
- Adaptability – Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
- Curiosity – Enjoy learning new subject matter and comfortable stepping into projects outside of domain knowledge.
- Project management skills – Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance competing priorities effectively.
- Change management certification (e.g., Prosci)
- Experience in an online retail environment.
- Experience organising training for business teams.
