About the team and the role
Ocado Retail is currently undergoing significant change activity through several programmes with varied business requirements. These must all be captured to a high standard and in a consistent & traceable manner so that the feedback process between the Technology and Business teams is efficient & effective, and quality assurance is both rigorous & well documented.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge of the retail industry to work with business owners, SMEs, Logistics and Technology teams to elicit requirements. This role will report to the IT Portfolio Lead.
What you’ll do
- Develop the problem definition via mapping of 'As Is' and 'To Be' operational processes in well presented business requirement documents
- Assess impact on operational model and increment model to satisfy new requirements
- Discovery and driving of stakeholder alignment via facilitation of workshops with SMEs & business owners to understand, challenge & capture requirements whilst clarifying and removing ambiguity
- Proactively model, document, and manage the end to end linked value chain for the eCommerce grocery business, ensuring the articulation of measurable milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure requirements are translated into well articulated definitions that align to expected outcomes and map to actionable plans
Who you are
- Significant experience in digital product delivery within the grocery eCommerce industry
- Experience of event driven integrations, API development and data mapping
- Proven expertise in value chain analysis, value stream mapping, and the development of measurable KPIs and milestones for large scale eCommerce or retail operations
- Proven track record of translating strategic initiative outlines into detailed requirements with significant experience of developing target operational models
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and conflict resolution skills, working with heads of business, product managers, SMEs, developers and architects
- Experience in organising and running workshops, gathering requirements and carrying out gap analysis, through a proactive approach focused on delivery of successful outcomes, with high attention to detail
- Able to create and maintain complex artifacts, with strong competence in use of process mapping tools
- Pragmatic, conscientious and with excellent written & verbal communication, able to tailor approach to get best out of working relationships
