We are the beating heart of our UK business and comprise a network of cutting edge warehouses and offices across the country that ensure that we optimise the experience and use our proprietary technology across the supply chain to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.

About the role:

We wouldn’t be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members - who keep our business running, our vans delivering, our customers' products picked and packed and our proprietary technology operating at optimum levels. We now have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join the team. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Operations team at CFC Dordon. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, automated environment and takes pride in being proactive, solutions-focused, and always one step ahead of potential issues.

You’ll play a vital role in keeping our automated facility running at peak performance, working closely with Inbound, Outbound and wider support teams to maximise availability, reliability and safety across the site. This role operates on day shifts, 4 days per week, supporting our continuous operation model and offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proactively carrying out planned and preventative maintenance across the facility in a safe, accurate and timely manner
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to improve machine reliability on both existing and new equipment
  • Identifying improvement opportunities and supporting engineering improvement works
  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed, parts used, training and maintenance activities
  • Monitoring, reporting and analysing data relating to automation and maintenance performance
  • Responding to tote jams on conveyor systems and restoring flow efficiently
  • Using computerised maintenance systems to complete jam reports and maintenance logs

About you:

You’re a proactive self-starter who doesn’t wait for problems to escalate — you anticipate, investigate and act. You’ll bring:

  • Mechanical engineering experience, ideally within an FMCG or automated environment
  • NVQ 3 apprenticeship or equivalent
  • A natural problem-solving mindset with experience analysing faults and delivering practical solutions
  • Strong technical ability across automation hardware and software
  • Experience with both reactive and preventative maintenance
  • A working knowledge of automated warehouses and their technical components
  • Excellent attention to detail and a hands-on, methodical approach
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to share knowledge and work cross-functionally
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using maintenance and reporting systems

What you can expect to receive in return:

At Ocado we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere that is as fresh as our produce as well as an award winning recognition programme and benefits package that includes a healthy work-life balance, extensive healthcare coverage, competitive salaries, and exclusive employee discounts.
