Overview

Location: CFC2, Dordon

We’re hiring an Engineering Operations Manager (Maintenance) to lead maintenance operations at our highly automated Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Dordon. This role is focused on maximising uptime, driving reliability, and leading a skilled team to deliver world-class engineering support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planned and preventative maintenance across material handling equipment (MHE) and facilities, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
  • Schedule shutdowns and peak-season preparation; analyse downtime data and implement improvements.
  • Lead a team of over 30 engineers and support staff, providing clear leadership, coaching, and development.
  • Manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and compliance with health & safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project and operations teams to support new equipment and ensure maintainability from day one.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recognised engineering qualification and strong electro-mechanical knowledge.
  • Solid background in engineering or maintenance management.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience with proven people development skills.
  • Analytical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in decision-making.
  • Approachable, motivational leader with strong decision-making skills.
  • Project management and budget control experience.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • NEBOSH certification.
  • Previous experience in automated or logistics environments, including cranes or conveyor systems.
  • Experience within Ocado or a similar organization.
