Due to continued growth, Ocado Logistics is thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new site in Stoke! As Delivery Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in site performance and customer experience. Leading a large team, you’ll be accountable for operational KPIs, resource planning, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective deliveries.

You’ll lead by example, inspire your teams, and bring a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving. Success in this role means driving both operational excellence and employee engagement – living and breathing our five pillars: Safety, People, Customer, Delivery, and Cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full accountability for Stoke spoke operations, including staff, facilities, vehicles, and customer experience.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of 300 colleagues, including 5 Team Managers, 2 Site Support and CSTMS.
  • Manage performance through operational KPIs, on-time delivery, absence, health & safety, and colleague development/appraisals.
  • Oversee a large-scale operation of 100 vans delivering c.25,000 weekly orders.
  • Plan resources and budgets effectively, ensuring operational and financial targets are met.
  • Maintain strong communication across all levels, driving collaboration and customer service excellence.
  • Take ownership of admin and data analysis – advanced spreadsheet skills are essential.

We’re looking for an experienced operational leader who thrives in a logistics or distribution environment. You’ll have:

  • Proven experience in a senior operations or site management role (transport/fleet management is essential).
  • A track record of managing large teams in a fast-paced, service-driven business.
  • Strong leadership skills – charismatic, approachable, and able to inspire and motivate.
  • A self-sufficient, proactive mindset, with the confidence to use initiative and drive improvements.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in high-volume logistics businesses is highly desirable.
