The Opportunity
We're pleased to announce that we're looking for an Associate Medical Writer (AMW) to join one of our thriving business units. The AMW is an entry level writer role and provides the opportunity to combine scientific expertise with creative communication skills to deliver work that matters.
In this role, you'll:
- Be a key member of a 15-strong editorial team, collaborating closely with client services.
- Work with more experienced writers to assist with basic editorial tasks and deliverables across therapy areas such as oncology, biosimilars, rare diseases, cardiology, infectious diseases/vaccines, neurology and haematology.
- Work within a dynamic business unit of 30 professionals, contributing to projects that shape the future of healthcare communications.
What You'll Do
- Support the editorial team on simpler tasks with a high level of accuracy - these include scientific fact checking, reference marking-up, slide templating, PowerPoint redraws, and copyright permissions.
- Develop scientific written materials and take in client comments; provide administrative support for client review systems such as PROMOMATS and VOLT; identify source materials through literature and other searches, and summarise findings.
- Demonstrate the ability to assimilate learnings and show progression in core editorial and writing skills, working with the highest attention to detail.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues through considered, timely and professional communications.
- Deliver exceptional customer service – working independently whilst seeking senior input as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- Ideally a degree in biological sciences (BSc/MSc/PhD or equivalent).
- Demonstrate an aptitude for medical writing with experience through degree/MSc/PhD or other activities.
- A strong interest in medical & health communications.
- Commercial awareness and client-focused mindset.
- Work with the highest attention to detail at all times.
