The Opportunity: 2025 was a year of exceptional growth—and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for an Associate Director to lead one of our thriving business units, focusing on medical affairs and publications accounts. As a senior member of the team, reporting directly to the Business Unit Director, you will:
- Shape strategy and growth for key accounts, ensuring revenue targets are met.
- Be the go-to advisor for clients across fascinating therapy areas—from rare blood disorders (sickle-cell disease) and nephrology to OTC brands.
- Work closely with the Business Unit Director and help lead and inspire a talented team of 20 account handlers and editorial specialists.
- Drive innovation and collaboration, championing Obsidian’s values and contributing to the company-wide initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead client accounts: Own revenue delivery, identify growth opportunities, and provide strategic direction.
- Build strong relationships: Act as senior counsel to clients and key stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop talent: Support career progression and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
- Ensure operational excellence: Oversee budgets, processes, and compliance with industry standards.
- Drive business growth: Lead and contribute to pitches and expand our client base.
What We’re Looking For:
- Ideally a science degree (or relevant qualification) or a strong interest in healthcare communications.
- A strong background in medical communications agencies, ideally as Senior Account Director or Associate Director or equivalent.
- A natural mentor who inspires teams and builds strong client relationships.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical communications and relevant codes (IFPMA, EFPIA, PMCPA, ABPI).
