Obsidian Systems is hiring a Software Project Manager to be based in the United Kingdom. As a Software Project Manager, you will manage complex software development projects from start to finish. In this role, you’ll lead coordination between engineering teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role requires both technical understanding and strong project management skills.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing software development projects from initiation to delivery
- Creating and maintaining project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
- Coordinating between engineering, product, design, and other stakeholders
- Managing project scope, timeline, and risks
- Running agile ceremonies: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives
- Reporting project status and blockers to stakeholders
- Managing dependencies across multiple concurrent projects
Who You Are
You have experience managing technical software projects across various domains. You thrive in communicating and influencing across stakeholders while ensuring the team stays ahead of the project plan. You work well with fully remote, distributed teams and can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across different time zones.
You have:
- 4+ years of project management experience for complex technical projects
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong proactive communication and influencing skills
- Technical background or ability to work closely with engineering teams
- Experience managing technical projects with fully remote teams
- Experience with a variety of project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience with multiple software domains including fintech, blockchain, AI, data science, open-source development, SaaS applications
