We are looking for an experienced Remedials Plumber to join our growing team, covering the Central South region.
Location: Central South, England
Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours per week
As a Remedials Plumber, you will play a key role in supporting Genex’s water management and legionella control services. You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing remedial works and planned maintenance activities, while providing technical guidance to colleagues and ensuring full compliance with current legislation and best practice. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines site-based technical work with client interaction and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver remedial plumbing works in line with legionella and water hygiene legislation, including tank painting and replacements, TMV servicing and replacements, point-of-use water heater replacements, installation of chlorine dioxide units, softener servicing (training provided), installation of telemetry units, calorifier inspections (visual and endoscope), blow downs and expansion vessel flushing.
- Carry out PPM tasks in accordance with HSG 274 Parts 1–3.
- Undertake cleaning and chlorination of domestic water services and cooling towers.
- Support closed heating and chilled water systems, including analysis and chemical treatment.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to Genex engineers and site operatives.
- Support health & safety compliance and promote safe systems of work.
- Produce accurate reports and populate Records for Buildings.
- Obtain and support quotations for small remedial works.
- Maintain and validate site records and compliance documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels.
- Work in line with Legionella Control Association requirements.
- NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of legionella control, water hygiene and current legislation.
- Good understanding of HSE ACOP L8 and LCA requirements.
- Computer literate, with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Experience working with corporate clients and accounts.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to work away from home during the working week when required.
- Experience of chemical and biological water sampling.
- Knowledge of closed system water chemistry, analysis and treatment.
- Experience working in a compliance-led or regulated environment.
- Confined space and asbestos awareness training.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds Legionella Control and Management.
- Unvented Cylinder Maintenance and Installation.
- Evaporative Cooling Tower Operation / Management / Risk Assessment qualification.
- CSCS card (or equivalent).
- Water Management Society (WMS) risk assessment training.
- Confined Space and Asbestos Awareness training.
- Professional, reliable and conscientious approach to work.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Confident working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong client-facing skills and relationship-building ability.
