What You'll Be Doing
- Credit Strategy & Decisioning
- Owning and optimising the credit decision engine, underwriting rules, and acceptance criteria
- Developing and refining scorecards and affordability models
- Driving smarter lending decisions aligned to risk appetite and FCA expectations
- Running structured test-and-learn strategies to improve performance and customer outcomes
- Supporting ongoing development of credit risk frameworks and lending strategies
- Portfolio & Risk Analysis
- Monitoring portfolio performance, arrears trends, and emerging risk indicators
- Producing meaningful MI and insight for senior leadership and governance meetings
- Supporting collections and account management strategies through behavioural analysis and segmentation
- Translating complex data into clear, commercially useful recommendations
- Data & Innovation
- Analysing internal and external data sources to improve risk assessment capability
- Exploring new technologies and industry developments including Open Banking and alternative credit data
- Supporting innovation within credit scoring and affordability assessment approaches
- Helping shape the future direction of the Credit Risk function
What They're Looking For
- Experience within Credit Risk Analytics in a consumer finance environment
- Strong understanding of decision engine optimisation and lending strategy
- Experience developing and monitoring scorecards
- Exposure to portfolio monitoring, arrears analysis, and performance reporting
- Confidence presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of FCA regulations, particularly CONC and responsible lending
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
- The ability to manipulate large datasets and turn data into actionable insight
