Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working independently? We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to join a growing team, carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance and fault finding on a range of rail depot equipment across multiple customer sites. The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of essential rail depot equipment. You'll work across multiple customer sites, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdowns while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, install and maintain a range of depot plant equipment, including:
    • Carriage wash machines
    • Fuelling and flueing systems (including AdBlue)
    • Motors, gearboxes and three-phase equipment
    • Electrical control systems
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • Diagnose and fault-find on both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Work independently across multiple customer sites.
  • Support installation and project work when required.
  • Follow company health & safety procedures and rail depot standards at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with motors, gearboxes, three-phase equipment or industrial machinery.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.

Travel

Field-based role covering multiple UK sites. Overnight stays typically 13 nights per week, depending on project requirements.

Overtime

1.5x pay Weekdays & Saturdays 2x pay Sundays
