An experienced and driven CNC Field Service Engineer is required for a field-based position involving UK-wide travel and regular overnight stays. The role focuses on the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and optimisation of CNC machine tools at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out service activities including breakdowns, audits, repairs, refurbishments, relocations, installations, and calibrations.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and CNC control system faults.
  • Undertake CNC control system, drive optimisation, and PLC-related projects.
  • Perform machine geometry and alignment checks.
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PPM) and servicing schedules.
  • Produce technical documentation and machine assessment reports.
  • Generate detailed service and escalation reports.
  • Support internal teams with technical queries and spare part identification.
  • Complete RAMS before commencing work.
  • Travel frequently, including overnight stays when required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in CNC machine tool servicing and repair.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Knowledge of CNC controls, PLCs, and drive systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
