To strengthen our team in London/Birmingham we are currently looking for a Development and Support Analyst SB. The individual will report to the Head of Development and will work in a hybrid role, alternating between development and application support on a rotational basis. The individual will work closely with business analysts, quality assurance, project management, and other programmer/analysts.
He/she will assist in the production of detailed specifications and programming functional requirements, and assist with unit testing and the preparation of technical specifications when necessary. Furthermore, working in a fast‑paced support environment, the candidate will assist the dedicated customer support team, reporting to the Support Manager, and be involved in all aspects of application support for Objectway products operated by customers.
Requirements
- Education to degree level preferred, however candidates will be primarily assessed on practical work experience
- A minimum of 2 years commercial experience of COBOL
- Good knowledge of COBOL with ‘embedded SQL’ coding
- Business analysis skills would be advantageous
- Ability to communicate ideas and thoughts clearly and concisely is essential
- Presentation skills would be advantageous
- Willingness to travel - occasional visits and working at client sites
- Experience in the following is considered as preferable:
- Experience of COBOL.NET
- Experience of VB.NET
- Experience of using GitLab
- Experience of developing financial systems (Trading platforms; Financial messaging, security settlement)
