Own the content engine for the AI startup lab that is rewriting how founders build. We are hiring a Content & Media Lead to lead everything Objective0 puts into the world: newsletter, LinkedIn, Substack, video, and (soon) a podcast. This is a big role. Done right, it shapes how thousands of founders think, and changes the way the startup world learns.
The mission: Most startups fail at the same things, in the same order, for reasons that are already well understood. We think that is fixable. Objective0 exists to put the highest-quality lessons and tools in front of every founder, for free, and to challenge how the venture world has always worked. We publish, we research, we build, we advise.
What is in it for you: This is a rare seat. You would be one of the faces of Objective0, not just behind the camera but in front of it, building a real public profile if you want one. You would spend your days deep in the startup and VC world: learning how it actually works, building relationships with the founders and investors worth knowing, and getting in early on something with a serious trajectory. You would start hands-on, personally responsible for the content going out the door. As we grow, this becomes the lead role for the entire content side of the business, with a team built around you.
What we are really looking for:
- A hustler who ships. In the early months you own the output. Newsletter, social, video: it goes out because you made it go out. You get your hands dirty and you move fast.
- A strategist who places the right bets. More important than the doing. You work out what we should make, on what surface, and why, then you run the loop: test, measure, learn, iterate, double down on what works, kill what does not. You do this autonomously.
- One non-negotiable: you care about this world. Startups and venture are genuinely interesting to you, and media and content is the thing you cannot not do.
What you’ll own:
- Editorial strategy. What we publish, where, why, and in what order.
- Newsletter and social. o0 Letter weekly, plus the LinkedIn and Substack rhythm around it, in the founders' voices.
- Books. Editing Andrew's first book, Startup OKRs, and shaping the process so we can publish more.
- Podcasts. Get Nick and Andrew booked on the shows founders listen to, and stand up our own show when the moment is right.
- PR and funnel experiments. Place Objective0 in the publications founders read, and test growth channels beyond the obvious.
- Product-launch content. Each o0 app release needs its content moment. You own that drumbeat.
- The production system. The templates, voice guides and light AI workflows that turn one founder conversation into a week of content. You build it as you use it.
Who you are:
- A real body of published work you can point to, with traction or response you are proud of.
- Experience of growing an audience from a low starting base, with impressive results.
- Strong writing across formats, and the ability to write in someone else's voice.
- A passion for the startup world.
- A genuine obsession with content, media, journalism, or publishing.
- Systems thinking: you build light playbooks as you go.
- Opinionated and direct. You will say "this is not good enough yet" when it is not.
- Comfortable using AI as part of the workflow, with your taste and judgement always on top.
Nice to have: comfortable on camera, podcast experience, PR or pitching experience, you have grown your own newsletter, video workflow tools (Riverside, Descript), LinkedIn-native instinct, editorial experience on a book or long-form project. We are open to left-field applications.
Details: London preferred, but open to remote for exceptional candidates (the founders are in London and Lisbon). Flexible salary plus equity. The scope to grow into leading the whole content function. Build a small content team around you as the funnel grows.
How we work: Direct. We say what we think and skip the diplomacy. We say "no" more than "yes". We take the mission seriously, not ourselves. Work-life balance is real and boundaries are respected.
How to apply: Apply through our application form. We ask some basic questions about you and 4 questions about your experience or skills.
