We are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join our growing property consultancy in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects (up to £20m) alongside a broad range of professional building surveying instructions, including dilapidations, acquisition surveys and project monitoring. The role offers strong client exposure, real responsibility on projects, and clear career progression within a supportive and collaborative consultancy environment.
The Role: You will deliver a combination of project and professional building surveying services, working with a diverse client base that includes occupiers, investors and landlords.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project management and contract administration for commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects
- Supporting projects through feasibility, design coordination, procurement and delivery
- Delivering professional services including acquisition surveys, schedules of condition and project monitoring
- Preparing and negotiating dilapidations on behalf of landlords and tenants
- Investigating building defects and providing clear technical advice
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development activities and wider team initiatives
About You:
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS desirable but not essential – candidates working towards chartership will also be considered
- Experience within a commercial building consultancy environment
- Working knowledge of contract administration, dilapidations and JCT contracts
- Strong organisational skills with clear and confident communication
