We are looking to appoint an Associate Director – Building Surveyor to join our growing property consultancy in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor to step into a senior leadership role, working on high‑profile commercial projects while playing a key part in the continued growth of the business.
In this role, you will lead commercial building surveying projects from the initial brief through to completion, providing expert advice to a broad client base that includes occupiers, investors, and landlords. This is a highly client‑facing position, offering significant responsibility alongside the opportunity to mentor junior surveyors and contribute to business development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead project management and contract administration for commercial fit-outs, refurbishments and capital works (£50k–£20m)
- Manage projects through feasibility, design coordination, procurement and delivery
- Deliver professional services including acquisition surveys, schedules of condition and project monitoring
- Prepare and negotiate dilapidations on behalf of landlords and tenants
- Investigate building defects and provide technical advice
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and represent the consultancy at meetings
- Support business development and mentor junior surveyors
