We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established client seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join their in-house disputes function on an interim basis.

Details

  • Full-time, PAYE 6 months (start April 2026), with potential to extend to 12
  • Hybrid: office-based Tuesdays & Thursdays in Newcastle
  • 25 days holiday per year

The Role

You'll manage a caseload of 35–40 live matters spanning consumer disputes, supplier and commercial claims, and a growing volume of high-value consumer claims. You'll act as the primary legal interface for the operations team, handling inbound queries and ad hoc issues, while instructing and managing external firms on more complex matters.

  • Qualified litigation lawyer with solid disputes experience
  • Defendant consumer work experience is a strong advantage; broader commercial litigation also considered
  • Comfortable juggling high-volume, lower-value claims alongside more complex matters
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, reactive environment with strong real-time prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communicator who translates risk and legal advice into clear, commercial language for non-lawyers
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
