We are seeking a Legal Director to cover a temporary gap in the commercial legal team for our professional services client. This is a hands-on contracting role, combining line-management responsibility with a personal caseload focused on complex commercial contracts and digital contracting, including data, technology delivery, AI, and cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as senior lawyer on complex digital transactions across a broad range of commercial contracts
- Prepare and negotiate services, framework, and licence agreements, and sub-contracts
- Provide contract risk analysis to senior management, escalating higher-risk matters as needed
- Support the wider legal function through best practice guidance and continuous improvement
Skills and Experience Required
- Expertise in digital contracting is essential, along with the regulatory considerations relevant to data, technology and AI contracting.
- Proven experience of managing a small legal team and being able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and non-legal audiences.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and familiarity with legal tech, digital transformation and CLM tools is advantageous.
