Job Description
The Small Claims Litigation Paralegal is responsible for managing and resolving pre-claim and Small Claims Court matters across England and Wales, from initial case assessment through to final advocacy at hearing. You will manage a rolling caseload of around 25 cases per year and play a critical role in protecting the client’s interests and ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks, particularly in consumer-related disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of pre-claim and Small Claims Court matters, taking ownership from inception to final hearing and resolution.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
- Draft, review, and submit persuasive legal letters, statements of case, witness statements, and applications to the court.
- Represent the client effectively at Small Claims Court hearings, providing clear and concise advocacy.
- Proactively engage with various internal business teams to gather necessary information, evidence, and technical details relevant to ongoing cases.
