Our client, a fast-growing fintech start-up reshaping how people manage rent payments, is seeking a lawyer with consumer finance expertise to provide ongoing advisory support. The business enables renters to split monthly rent into smaller instalments, working with Banking and Credit-as-a-Service providers.
The Role
You will provide legal advice across consumer credit and UK financial services regulation, as well as general legal advice on start-up operations. The initial commitment will be 5–10 hours of advisory work, followed by a pause during product development, and then ongoing support through launch and scale-up. This is intended to be a long-term partnership.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in UK consumer finance and credit regulation.
- Experience advising on fintech, payments or consumer lending products.
- Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to start-ups.
- Knowledge of working with Banking/Credit-as-a-Service providers desirable.
- Flexible, collaborative approach and interest in long-term engagement with a growing start-up.
