Location: Hybrid (Welwyn Garden City & London office visits very occasionally)

The New Business Director will be responsible for originating, developing and closing complex enterprise sales opportunities with ASPSPs, banks and other regulated financial institutions. The role focuses on selling a joined-up proposition combining obconnect Open Banking software with PayPoint services, acting as a senior commercial owner for long-cycle, multi-stakeholder deals.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle for ASPSP and bank-facing enterprise opportunities.
  • Lead complex, long-cycle sales processes involving technology, compliance, legal and procurement stakeholders.
  • Sell bundled propositions combining obconnect software with PayPoint payments, disbursement and related services.
  • Build and maintain a qualified, realistic enterprise sales pipeline aligned to business targets.
  • Engage credibly with senior stakeholders including Heads of Payments, Open Banking leads, Digital, Risk and Compliance.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships internally, contributing market insight to product, pricing and go-to-market strategy and working closely with Customer Success to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new customers.

Experience and background

  • Proven enterprise sales experience selling software or infrastructure into banks or regulated financial institutions.
  • Track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with long sales cycles.
  • Strong familiarity with Open Banking, payments or closely related regulated financial services.
  • Comfortable engaging with compliance, risk and procurement functions.
