Gemma Conlin is an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager working for English Heritage. English Heritage is a registered charity and is one of the most important guardians of historic sites in England. English Heritage cares for over 400 historic buildings, monuments and sites spanning over 6,000 years of history.
Responsibilities
- Speak to people who work or volunteer with English Heritage to understand what is happening with them and what needs improving on either equality, diversity, or inclusion.
- Advise and coach people on how we can be more inclusive be it in how they work, a project they are creating or a policy they are writing.
- Support people I manage or who approach me with the issues they are having at work, or volunteering and support them on how to move forwards.
- Create a cultural change in English Heritage around equality, diversity, and inclusion affecting staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Make evidence-based decisions based on qualitative and quantitative data related to representation of different demographics in our staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Manage a team of three staff, one volunteer, and 11 EDI network leads to create cultural change.
Qualifications
A key part of the role requires the ability to analyze data logically and make decisions based on that data.
