Oasis Software Solutions is looking to hire a Control System Engineer to support our continued growth with key clients across the UK. The postholder will work hand in hand with the wider engineering team to deliver our projects to the highest standard to ensure customer satisfaction. You’ll be involved in the design of control software for various industries, utilising your PLC programming and SCADA knowledge, to evaluate and provide technical estimation and solutions for hardware and engineering solution against customer enquiries and specifications.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

  • Deliver systems integration projects across Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, and Mitsubishi PLC/SCADA/HMI platforms, including the following activities:
  • Undertake control system feasibility studies, identifying and recommending control and automation solutions, and presenting findings in high-quality professional documentation. This may include hardware specifications, control system architectures, control philosophies, and system migration strategies.
  • Produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS) to meet project requirements, defining PLC and HMI/SCADA hardware and software configuration.
  • Produce detailed PLC/SCADA/HMI software designs to support configuration activities.
  • Develop PLC configurations to meet project requirements, as defined by the customer, the FDS and other applicable design inputs.
  • Develop and perform internal testing of PLC/SCADA/HMI software.
  • Support and execute customer-witnessed testing of PLC/SCADA/HMI systems at client premises.
  • Implement or modify PLC/SCADA/HMI software on client systems within live operational environments.
  • Undertake commissioning activities on client sites to verify that PLC/SCADA/HMI software performs in line with project requirements.
  • Produce high-quality project documentation, including FDS, detailed design specifications, I/O schedules, and operator manuals.

What Do You Need?

  • Degree level education BSc or BEng in Engineering/Science or alternate qualification equivalent in Electrical, Control Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in Controls Systems Engineering.
  • Experienced in Siemens and/or Rockwell Automation and/or Schneider Electric latest Automation and Process Control Systems.
  • Ideally experienced with DCS systems including PCS7 and PlantPAx.
  • Able to use own initiative and work to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrable experience in completion of full turnkey projects from design through to programming and commissioning.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced with client-facing.
