Description

Location: Based at our state-of-the-art custom designed facilities in Craigavon

Salary: Graduate Production Technician (no experience) starting salary: £28,500 plus additional shift premiums + excellent benefits package

Experienced Production Technician (significant relevant experience working within the pharmaceutical industry or in an engineering environment) starting salary £32,000 plus additional shift premiums + excellent benefits package

Exact starting salary for this role is dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

The Role

The role of a Production Technician is to provide technical expertise within work centres ranging from manufacturing, primary and secondary packaging. The principal function of the role is to ensure the efficient and effective running of technical operations, in accordance with associated protocols & batch documentation whilst maintaining schedule adherence. The Production Technician must also ensure operational compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), and adherence to Health and Safety policies.

Responsibilities / Attributes

The role holder will:

  • Be a ‘hands-on’, subject matter expert, working with state-of-the-art manufacturing and packaging equipment and associated computerised operating systems.
  • Oversee the completion of production batches with responsibility for ensuring operations are completed in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Support the introduction of new equipment and processes.
  • Identify challenges and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.

The role holder should be:

  • Interested in delivery of a high quality, safe and efficacious product to our clients and their patients.
  • A graduate or an experienced production operator currently working in the pharmaceutical / engineering industry.
  • Motivated and keen to learn about the pharmaceutical industry.
  • An excellent communicator and team player.
  • Keen to develop and grow with a fast-paced, expanding business.

Working in a specialised industry, we recognise that at the time of application, a Production Technician may not possess the required knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Entry to this role can therefore be via the ‘pharmaceutical / engineering experience’ route or via non-experienced (Graduate) route. Whatever your pathway, we are committed to helping you achieve your potential through a programme of tailored on-the-job training and other learning opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

The qualifications and/or experience of a suitable candidate is detailed below:

  • For new graduates, the route to the role of Production Technician is via the Graduate Production Technician role.
  • We have roles suitable for those with a third level education (e.g., HNC, HND (or higher) in a Life Science or Engineering subject), and no previous experience.
  • Offering a clear career pathway, a Graduate Production Technician can expect to progress to a Production Technician within 2 – 3 years (dependent on performance).
  • The role is suitable for people with significant relevant experience working within the pharmaceutical industry or in an engineering environment.

Additional Information

During periods of additional work requests, this role will require additional coverage beyond normal working hours. It is a condition of your employment that you are able to fulfil this requirement of the role.
