Do you believe that every child deserves the best possible start through regular school attendance and strong home-school partnerships? Oasis Academy Long Cross is seeking a warm, organised and compassionate Attendance Officer to join our dedicated team for 12 hours per week. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children, families and academy staff to promote excellent attendance and remove barriers that may prevent pupils from attending school regularly. You will play a key part in helping every child feel supported, valued and able to thrive.
What you'll be doing:
- Monitoring and tracking pupil attendance.
- Maintaining accurate attendance records and reports.
- Communicating with families regarding attendance concerns and celebrating improvements.
- Working collaboratively with staff, external agencies and families to support regular school attendance.
- Identifying barriers to attendance and providing practical, sensitive support to children and parents.
- Contributing to a positive culture where every school day matters.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Builds positive and trusting relationships with children and families.
- Is organised, accurate and confident using IT systems.
- Can handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Is committed to improving outcomes for children and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.
- Has experience in education, administration, family support or attendance work (desirable but not essential).

Candidates will be expected to have at least an NVQ2 or equivalent qualification or be working towards this and experience of working with children in either a mainstream or special school provision.
