Oasis Academy Lord's Hill is currently seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic Leisure Assistant to join the Leisure Team in providing excellent customer service to its many community users during evenings and weekends. Leisure Assistants are line managed by the Community Lettings Manager, working proactively with members of the Academy teaching and site staff. This particular role consists primarily of Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons with occasional work on other days, when cover is required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure that all users of Oasis Academy Lord's Hill community facilities feel professionally welcomed and appreciated through the highest level of customer care whenever they visit the facilities or when they contact the Community Team by other means such as the telephone, email or letter.
  • Carry out as necessary, efficient and effective administration, booking and financial processes relating to community usage in line with procedures.
  • Set out required equipment and furniture in rooms and sports areas in a timely fashion in preparation for use with the session's bookings ensuring that all equipment is put back correctly in a timely fashion at the end of all community usage sessions.
  • Operate in line with appropriate Health and Safety policies and procedures acting as Fire Marshall.
  • Provide First Aid as appropriate.
  • Ensure appropriate site security during Community use, following all work policies and procedures, including those for the unlocking and locking of the premises and site.
  • Manage, politely, efficiently and effectively any customer queries or complaints that arise or in circumstances where the complaint or query cannot be resolved, to forward the query to a Senior Leisure Assistant or Community Lettings Manager as appropriate.
  • Report any repair and maintenance needs of the community facilities to the Senior Leisure Assistant, Community Lettings Manager or the Academy site team as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all areas and equipment used by the community are always kept to the highest standard of cleanliness, carrying out specific cleaning duties as required.
  • Sell drinks and other refreshments from the reception area and to keep this area clean and tidy during operating hours.
  • At all times, to work as part of a team, assisting and supporting other team members as necessary to achieve a high standard of customer service.
  • Promote Oasis within the community and contribute to local area and Hub events.
  • The post holder is expected to share in the sickness, holiday, and additional work cover with other members of the team.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the level of the post that may be allocated by the Community Lettings Manager.
