Hunter Adams is delighted to support our client Oasis Community Learning in sourcing a People Manager to join their People and Culture Team and provide HR support to their schools in London locations, Romford, Putney, Lower Marsh, Coulsdon, Croyden and Gillingham. Oasis Community Learning is a forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust committed to creating an environment where both employees and students can thrive. With a new structure in place, they are seeking a proactive, adaptable, and motivated People Manager to join their dynamic team.
As People Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality HR services across the Oasis Community Learning academies. Working collaboratively with the wider People team and Centres of Expertise (CoE's) to deliver regional people plans that address specific functional people challenges, driving a high-performance culture through coaching and influencing leaders, executing and embedding change initiatives, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the broader People team, helping to implement people activities and objectives, providing expert guidance on areas such as change management, restructuring, resource planning, employee relations and conflict resolution. Utilise HR expertise to ensure academies have the right support to meet their objectives, focusing on talent attraction, retention, and efficiently resolving employee relations issues.
Take ownership of complex employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans, managing Trade Union relationships to ensure fair outcomes. Lead and deliver People projects and change initiatives, acting as a role model and advocate for change.
Demonstrated experience as an HR generalist in complex organisations, ideally within a unionised environment and with a background in the Education or public sector. Deep understanding of people and employee relations processes, including handling complex casework and managing organisational change effectively. Strong skills in influencing, partnering, and relationship-building, with a track record of working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to establish trusted relationships. Solid change management expertise, with the capability to apply project management principles to support and deliver organisational change.
