Learning Support Assistant with HLTA responsibilities

Join our team at Oasis Academy Long Cross as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) responsibilities. The role involves supporting students across the academy for three days each week as an LSA, and on the fourth day stepping into the HLTA role to lead interventions, whole‑class teaching, and contribute to curriculum development.

Ideal Candidate

  • An excellent practitioner with great interpersonal skills, uncompromisingly high expectations and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Someone with strong curriculum subject knowledge who has experience of leading a class.
  • Someone with a desire to provide effective and high‑quality behaviour and pastoral support to ensure every child is successful and reaches their full potential.
  • A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will play a key role in our drive for continual improvement.
  • Someone who shows a passion for closing the gap and reducing barriers for our disadvantaged children.
  • An individual committed to their own continuing professional development, with up‑to‑date knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and behaviour‑management strategies.
  • Someone who is fully dedicated, going above and beyond to fulfil our role in supporting community transformation.

  • LSA – SCP 13‑17, Actual £13,175 pa
  • HLTA – SCP 22‑26, Actual £5,092 pa
