Is our Assistant Principal - Inclusion/SENDCo opportunity at Oasis Academy Blakenhale the role for you? You’ll be continuing your career with us at Oasis, where we are looking to build stronger communities and provide exceptional education for our pupils that enhances their lives. Looking to make a real difference to our students? Then this could be the role for you.
You’ll be integral to the running of our academy. No child is the same and we need someone who recognises this and ensures we’re supporting our SEND pupils to address any barriers to learning they may have. Ultimately you’ll be someone who wants to make a difference and champion inclusivity.
Initially you’ll be a classroom practitioner. You’ll care and consistently be intrigued by pedagogy. We want someone who can support with teaching and learning and be able to coach and inspire how we meet the needs of our SEND pupils. We’ll provide that time to understand the role and make/implement the changes you feel are necessary, but we want that person who has passion to be in the classroom (as first and foremost we’re teachers) and that desire to drive inclusivity and support our community.
Inclusion at Blakenhale is broader than SEND. You’ll champion all vulnerable learners, ensuring that any child facing any form of disadvantage is supported to thrive and that our systems and classroom practice remove barriers for every learner. You’ll work in a very diverse academy; we have numerous languages spoken and there’s work to support with speech and language alongside varying cognition and learning needs. There are opportunities to develop EHCPs that really support our students and best help them, alongside really looking and shaping our policies and procedures.
As we shape a new enrichment-led identity for the Academy, you will play a key role in developing our Pupil Pledge and ensuring every child benefits from a rich, joyful and ambitious curriculum beyond the classroom.
What will you get in return?
- Pay Scale: LPS 4-8
- Wider Oasis Community Learning benefits portal including health & dental cover & discounts at leading companies
- Teachers pension scheme
- Great support systems in place for your development

The vacancy will be open till Monday 29th June and we will be interviewing week commencing 6th July. We would really encourage and like candidates to visit prior to this.
