The OATQ Journey

We opened our doors in September 2023 on the site of Oasis Academy Brislington, before moving to our purpose-built temporary home on Spring Street in Bedminster in January 2024. We are currently located less than 0.5 miles from Temple Meads train station, at the heart of our vibrant city centre. From September 2027, we will move to our permanent site, situated in Bristol's Temple Quarter development zone, one of the most exciting regeneration projects in the UK at present.

Academy Context

Currently our Academy comprises Year 7, 8 and 9. Our first Year 10 cohort will start in September 2026. When we move to our permanent site in 2027, we will have a PAN of 1600 students (1200 in Y7 - Y11 and 400 in sixth form), and we expect our cohort to be truly representative of the central part of Bristol, in all its diversity.

The role

We are looking for two candidates to join our team in Phase 2 of the academy's journey, alongside the founding staff body. The appointed candidates will work closely with our team of dedicated and motivated practitioners to continue to establish the culture, ethos, and values of a new free school. Under the direction of the teacher, the successful candidates will support effective teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of students with SEND needs or for whom English is not their first language.

Although these roles are not permanent, we are a growing school and therefore are likely to have similar roles available next year.

OCL Scale 4 SCP 7-1139 weeks per year - 37 hours per week. One post is fixed for 12 months, one role is temporary, attached to EHCP funding.
