Job Purpose: To support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, and analysis. This role is suited to a part-qualified accountant who is currently studying AAT or CIMA and is looking to further develop their accounting knowledge, commercial awareness, and technical finance skills within a fast-paced and growing organisation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the management and monitoring of project data to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support year-end processes and the preparation of audit information.
- Assist with and support the implementation of new ERP software (COINS).
- Provide financial data, analysis, and support to non-financial stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and key external customers.
- Ensure compliance with Group Policies across all financial transactions.
- Provide holiday and sickness cover for other Finance team roles as required.
Person Specification:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
Experience:
- Part qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA).
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience of working with accounting or ERP systems would be advantageous.
- Exposure to management accounts preparation and reconciliations preferred.
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday
Work Location: Hybrid available (4 days in person and 1 day WFH)
