We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant for a SME to support their finance team with invoicing, purchase ledger, credit control, and supplier account management. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely invoicing and payments, and responding to internal and external queries in a professional manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Raise and process chargeable callouts and service-related invoices using internal systems.
  • Produce daily invoices against Works Order Numbers and manage rejected invoices, ensuring timely resubmission.
  • Raise weekly planned maintenance invoices and ensure accurate billing.
  • Match, code, and process purchase invoices against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier account queries, liaising with suppliers to ensure payments meet agreed terms.
  • Prepare supplier payments, reconcile supplier statements, and maintain accurate purchase ledger records.
  • Support credit control by chasing outstanding debts, resolving customer queries, and monitoring aged creditor reports.
  • Manage accounts email inbox, process customer purchase orders, maintain records, and complete general administrative duties.
