Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial performance of the organisation. This opportunity is with a well-established UK-based diversified business group operating across fuel distribution, forecourt retail, automotive, hospitality, and property sectors.

The role will support multiple entities across the group, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial information, maintaining robust financial controls, and contributing to effective financial reporting. Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledgers of multiple companies.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances.
  • Manage bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions including invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Prepare and post journals.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and administration.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation.
  • Monitor cash flow and update forecasts as required.
  • Produce accurate financial information within agreed deadlines.
  • Work closely with management and meet reporting deadlines set by the Board.

  • Experience working within a multi-company environment.
