The Role

As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the bar during your shift, ensuring high standards, happy customers, and full compliance with licensing laws. You will act as the responsible person on duty, using your Personal Licence to oversee alcohol sales and support the wider management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the team during service
  • Ensure excellent customer service at all times
  • Open and close the venue, including cash handling
  • Support staff on the bar and floor during busy periods
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws and Challenge 25
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Monitor stock levels and minimise wastage

Requirements

  • Valid Personal Licence (UK) – essential
  • Previous experience as a supervisor or duty manager in a bar/pub
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good knowledge of licensing laws and responsible alcohol service
  • Flexible availability, including late nights and weekends
