Oasis Academy Mayfield currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Teaching Assistant, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners. We are looking for a committed and energetic person to assist and support students with learning and behaviour needs to work within our SEN team. This role will require patience, detailed planning, constructive conversations and a constant drive for excellence over the long haul. This is also a role that will be incredibly rewarding overseeing the development and transformation when a student eventually returns to all their mainstream lessons.
Job overview
You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met. Job requirements
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade A* - C / 9 - 4, including English and Maths
- Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
- Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
- Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
- Knowledge of Every Child Matters, effective protection and safeguarding practice, SEND Code of Practice
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant within Oasis Academy Mayfield, you’ll be able to build upon your existing skillset within a supportive environment, with professional development, training, and career progression opportunities available. Salary £25,185 - £26,825 FTE - Actual £19,613 - £21,456. Successful candidates will be required to work 33.5 per week, Term Time only (39 weeks).
