Thank you for your interest in potentially joining Oasis Academy John Williams as a teacher of English. You will join our talented team of 7 specialist English teachers and work with Head of English Jude for professional development. You will deliver lessons across Key Stage 4, inspire students to love English and act as a Learning Mentor to support their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality English lessons covering a range of modules and concepts.
- Support students as a Learning Mentor, spending time daily to help them thrive in learning and life.
- Contribute to curriculum development and shared planning within the English team.
- Participate in the wider life of the school and support the inclusive, values‑led ethos.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
- Relevant specialist qualifications and experience (e.g. BA (Hons) in English or related degree)
- Ability to deliver high‑quality English lessons across a range of modules and concepts
- A good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for English
- Enthusiasm and commitment to ensure all learners progress and achieve a high standard in preparation for examinations
