We seek enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Early Years team as an Early Years Educator Apprentice in our vibrant primary school setting. They will work with children under the age of five to support their learning and development and help them achieve their full potential.

Role Overview:

As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced educators to support the development and well-being of children under the age of 5, including pupils with special educational needs, on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will assist in planning and implementing engaging activities, play opportunities and experiences, observing and documenting children's progress, and creating a nurturing environment conducive to learning and exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment, foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, and liaise with appropriate external agencies.
  • Work with teachers and teams to differentiate teaching resources, materials and delivery.
  • Participate in planning, implementing and evaluating learning activities with the teacher, providing feedback to the teacher and children on their progress, next steps and behaviour.
  • Support the teaching by monitoring, assessing, and recording pupils' progress and next steps.
  • Assist in the creation, development and review of individual pupil development plans (such as Education and Health Care Plans (ECHP)).
  • Support students in developing and implementing their own personal and social development.
  • Assist the children with their physical care routines, whilst encouraging their independence, e.g. changing nappies, eating, dressing, washing hands, etc.
  • Participate in staff, team and planning meetings.

The training you will be getting:

  • Early Years Educator (Level 3)
  • Qualification in Early Years and access to 90+ CPD online courses
  • Blended on/off-the-job training and location to be confirmed

All candidates participate in an initial intense training programme at the start of the selection process. During this period, our experienced staff will prepare candidates for their placements by giving them the foundations they need to secure a placement. Our recruitment team will also be on hand to support you with interview skills ready for a placement interview.

Desired Qualification & Skills:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*-C / 9-4, including English and Maths
  • Enthusiastic, and have a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and punctual

Personal Qualities:

  • Professional, organised, and attention to detail
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable, but not essential
  • Confidence in your own ability to want to learn and develop
