The role in one line: keep our Bury workshop fully supplied so every car moves through prep and repair without a parts delay. Oakwood Motor Company runs 400+ vehicles across three sites and a dedicated preparation centre. Workshop throughput depends on parts being right, on time, and at the right cost. That is the job. You own it.
What you’ll actually do day to day: You will work AA mechanical inspection reports and workshop job sheets, identify every part needed, and source it before the technician needs it. You will run quotes across multiple suppliers, negotiate pricing and lead times, manage the parts ledger, chase backorders, handle returns and warranty parts, and flag anything that risks holding a car off the forecourt. You are the person the workshop manager checks with before committing a completion date.
What we need from you: Motor trade parts experience is essential — you should already know factor suppliers, VIN and registration lookups, and how a workshop runs. Beyond that we want someone accurate under pressure, comfortable holding suppliers to their quotes, and organised enough to track 20+ open jobs without losing one. If you have used a DMS or parts catalogue system, say which.
What this is not: This is not a counter sales or trade-counter role, and it is not entry level. If you have not ordered parts against live workshop jobs before, this will not be the right fit.
