We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient centred GP to join our dedicated team on a fixed term basis, with the aim of providing additional clinical capacity.

Main duties of the job:

  • 2 sessions per week/one full day on either a Thursday or Friday
  • Duty GP session for 1 session on alternate weeks
  • Clinical sessions will include face to face and telephone consultations.

About us:

Oakwood Medical Centre is a well established GP practice looking after approximately 8,300 patients. Our clinical team includes 2 GP Partners, 3 salaried GPs, 2 Physician Associates, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Paramedic, 2 Practice Nurses and 1 Healthcare Assistant. We have a very efficient supporting admin team, which includes an Operations Manager and Practice Manager.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality clinical care to all patients.
  • Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, home visits when duty GP, signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Developing care plans in line with practice disease management protocols.
  • Contribute to practice QOF performance and clinical audits.
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary.
  • The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the usual duties and responsibilities associated with a GP in primary care.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice
  • Inclusion on the NHS performers list
  • DBS clearance

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a GP team in primary care

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
