London (Hybrid) Permanent Our client, a leading technology consultancy, is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join their growing cloud engineering practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, cloud-native transformation projects across a diverse portfolio of enterprise clients, predominantly within financial services.

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling secure, resilient, and automated platforms in AWS, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based workloads.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines to enable high-velocity, low-risk deployments
  • Improve observability, reliability, and performance across distributed systems
  • Implement DevOps best practices and promote platform engineering standards
  • Work closely with client teams to enable cloud adoption and modernisation

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, EKS)
  • Production experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Containerisation (Docker)
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles
  • Experience in consultancy or client-facing roles
  • Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, etc.)
