A high-growth climate analytics company is looking for a Platform Engineer to help scale the infrastructure behind a global climate risk platform used by enterprise clients. This is an opportunity to work on large-scale geospatial datasets, high-performance compute workloads, and cloud-native infrastructure in a mission-driven environment. You’ll collaborate closely with platform, data, and geospatial engineering teams to build reliable, scalable systems that power advanced climate modelling and analytics.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and build scalable AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • Optimise systems handling large geospatial datasets and compute workloads
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Improve platform security and reliability
  • Partner with engineering teams to support delivery and scaling
  • Drive cloud cost optimisation initiatives

Tech Environment

  • AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC)
  • Terraform / CloudFormation
  • Kubernetes & Docker
  • CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
  • Python / Bash scripting
  • Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in Platform / DevOps / Cloud Engineering
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • Containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS)
  • CI/CD pipeline development experience
  • Monitoring and observability tooling
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience working in agile engineering teams
