Our client, a technology company developing advanced imaging and sensor solutions is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on hardware testing and validation, working closely with software and systems engineers across the full product lifecycle.
You will develop deep technical knowledge of imaging sensors and detector systems, contributing to product development from initial requirements through to validation, testing, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out engineering tests on imaging sensors, detector panels, and associated systems
- Perform validation and verification of hardware, firmware, and software
- Investigate technical issues and conduct fault analysis and performance evaluation
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers integrating the company’s products
- Produce technical documentation including application notes and internal knowledge resources
- Analyse and report test results, including statistical performance data
Requirements
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years’ experience in a hands-on electronics role (test, development, research, or applications engineering)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Analogue and digital electronics
- Scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, VBA, or Perl
- Semiconductor sensors, imaging systems, or related technologies
- Verification and validation (V&V) testing methodologies
- C or C++ and Windows-based software development
- Technical documentation such as datasheets or application notes
